Barbers Point Bowling Center Blessing – March 8, 2010

Barbers Point Bowling Center is officially open for business! And the lanes are open for both military and civilian use daily from 9am – 11pm, and until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Senator Mike Gabbard (right) was among the many congratulating (from left) proprietors Bev Brennan and Linda Painter, who celebrated the alley’s grand opening on March 8, 2010 with a traditional Hawaiian blessing performed by Kahu Kala Holden.

Bev and Linda secured a lease with Ford Island Ventures and have been busy the last few months getting the place cleaned up and ready for bowlers, so now it’s time to eat, drink, and let the good times roll!

Senator Mike Gabbards HUGE Block Party for Kualakai Parkway

Talk about a long-time coming! It was awesome to attend and speak at the dedication ceremony for Kualaka'i Parkway (formerly North-South Road) on February 11th. The cost of this 2.3 mile road, which links Kapolei Parkway to Farrington Highway in West Oahu, was $155 million, with 80% of the cost paid by the feds. The actual construction of this road took 4 years but Hawaii residents have been waiting for over 20 years for it to be built.
